#172 May Status Report

May 2, 2022

This month’s report shows the most recent addition to the EnterTRAINment Junction (EJ) layout.  It’s a new house planted in the former party grounds (Figure 1) located between the parking lot for the Modern City’s central subway station and the series of residences along the EJ aisle toward the Lift Bridge.  This house is very special because it has been a team project worked on by a number of the EJ volunteers, each contributing their expertise toward making it grand.

The house is a two-story building with an attic.  Its interior rooms are lit, fully decorated, and furnished; and many are populated with figures representing its residents (Figure 2).  The aluminum tape at the gable ends is there to prevent light from leaking out from the interior through the joint between the walls and the removable roof.

Figures 3 and 4 provide two views of the installed house, with its lit interior and with its figures of partly-goers carrying on the tradition of its location.

A closer view gives some idea of the details of the decorated interior and the well-furnished veranda, which extends across the entire front of the house and partially around one end (Figure 5).

A still closer look in Figure 6 shows the piano player at “play” in the front room.  No, that’s not a pineapple headdress on the lady on the veranda.  It’s a hanging planter that managed to get itself in the way in every attempt to get a good photograph of the piano player through the window.

This beautiful house with its relaxed party atmosphere and many guests brings another pleasant scene to life and hopefully reminds us of the joyful community spirit of togetherness that we had before Covid19 and that we’ll have again when the pandemic is finally over.
