Train Crafts for Kids

April 13, 2017

April showers bring May flowers, but what do you do during those rainy days in between? Make crafts of course! We’ve gathered some of our favorite train-themed crafts for your enjoyment!  You can find more ideas on pinterest for rainy day fun!

There are plenty of ways to have learn and have fun at the same time and this is one of them! Learn the alphabet AND help with spelling with this craft idea! All you need is paper (and maybe some cotton balls for the smoke!) This is also a fantastic way to learn colors and/or numbers!

Fun with felt! Trace some train outlines and cut out the felt to match. Have fun mixing colors, trying different shapes, and creating a one of a kind train! (Be sure to add some glitter, too, for that added pizzazz!)

With Easter just around the corner, save those egg cartons! Who would have thought cartons could make a chugga chugga choo choo! This is great for getting out some paint and having fun.

Start collecting toilet paper rolls to create the world’s longest toilet paper train. (Only kidding, but what a great idea!)

Take your beanies for a ride! All you need are tissue boxes, something to color with, and small plates. Even animals deserve to have some fun!

This last craft is one for the parents! You’ve heard people complain before about how kids are more interested in the box the toy comes in than the toy itself…. ? Well here is your opportunity to have fun with it! Use those cardboard boxes to make a kid-sized train perfect for sparking imagination and smiles
